Experience
I earned my bachelor's with a double major in Sociology and Biology and minors in Korean and Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh. Throughout my years as an undergrad, I spent much of my time as a tutor both formally and informally. I've worked with young children all the way up through college students. My main area of expertise as a tutor is Math up through Algebra. I am also adept with and comfortable teaching Chemistry, Biology, and the Social Sciences. One strategy that I have seen great success with and that my students have shown an appreciation for is when I take a concept they don't understand at first but restate it in a different way that they can relate to and comprehend better. I strongly believe that each and every student has the capabilities to succeed if they are put into a situation where they are comfortable expressing what they are struggling and encouraged enough to put in the hard work that is required to master a subject. When I am not working as a tutor, I like to spend my time knitting, crocheting, doing yoga, and playing video games.
